Method used for cleaning is as follows: Antique Furniture
Clean with Vinegar and Water. Dry. Polish with Real Dark Wax Polish. This is hard work and takes a long time. When furniture is complete dust weekly with a Soft Duster. Baseboards
Damp Terry Towel sprayed with a little Bleach. If there is Dirt between the Carpet and the Baseboards use a grout brush to get it out. Blinds
Damp Terry Towel sprayed with a little Bleach. Slats are washed individually on both sides. Blinds take a long time to clean. Brass
Brasso and a Terry Towel. Buff with a clean Terry Towel. Some items may need to be washed in the sink with hot water and a little Dish Soap to get the Brasso out of the cracks. After wshing dry thoroughly and re-buff. Carpet
Vacuum. Use Crevice Tool for edges. Use small brush for all kinds of hards floors. Use Power Head for main area of Carpets. Ceramic Tile
Wash with a damp Terry Cloth. A soft Scouring Pad and a Grout Brush can be useful.
Dishes
We do not wash dishes. If time permits we will load and unload the dishwasher but we will not wash dishes by hand. We do not operate machines and will not turn on the dishwasher. This is just in case there was a plumbing problem.
Enamel Bathroom Fixtures
Clean with a Cleansing Powder and a damp Scouring Pad. Rinse well with a damp Terry Cloth. Complete taps by buffing with Windex and a dry Terry Cloth. Plugs, Soap Dishes, Toothbrush Holders, etc. can go in the Dishwasher. Garbage
We will empty Garbage Containers and leave Garbage in Kitchen unless customer gives different instructions.
Floors
Wash with a damp Terry Cloth sprayed with a little Lysol. All floors are washed on hands and knees. Some floors may need an additional floor polish. Shine Keeper is a good polish. Silver
Silvo and a damp Terry Cloth. Buff with a dry clean Terry Cloth. You may need to wash silver out of cracks with water and then re-buff with a clean Terry Cloth. Stove
Stove Top - remove Burners and clean with SOS. Clean top of stove and replace Burners. You can use Foil Covers on burners. Most stove knobs can be removed for easier cleaning. Some Range Tops lift for easier cleaning. Stoves with a glass top can be cleaned with Cerama Bryte. Oven - remove Racks and clean Oven with SOS. Self-cleaning Ovens can be cleaned by following manufacturer's cleaning instructions. Note, if you want racks to remain shiny remove before Self-Cleaning process and clean by hand.
Most stove drawers can be removed for cleaning. Clean and replace. Complete stove clean with Windex and a dry Terry Cloth. Don't forget to pull stove away from wall annually and clean behind. Vacuum
Maintain Vacuum as per manufacturer's instructions. Change vacuum bags frequently. Keeping your vacuum maintained properly gives you optimum performance. Walls
Wash walls with Lysol General Purpose Cleaner and a damp Terry Cloth. Prior to painting walls should be washed with TSP as per instructions. Windows
Wash Windows with a damp Terry Cloth. Don't forget Tracks, Frame and Sill. Rinse. Clean Glass with Windex. Keep cleaning Glass with a dry clean terry cloth until there are no streaks. Wood Furniture
Spray with Pledge Polish and buff to a shine.
